How are internal and external marks calculated for BBA (Hons.) and BCA (Hons.) students under KTU?
Each course under the BBA (Hons.) and BCA (Hons.) programmes is evaluated through Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and End Semester Examination (ESE).
-
For most theory courses, marks are divided as:
-
Internal (CIE): 40%
-
External (ESE): 60%
-
-
Internal Evaluation (CIE) includes two internal exams, assignments, class participation, case studies, or other continuous assessments decided by the faculty.
-
External Evaluation (ESE) is conducted by the university or college at the end of each semester.
If a student misses an internal exam for valid reasons, a retest may be allowed after the second internal exam.
Students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply for revaluation, rechecking, or answer script copy through the KTU portal after results are published.
⚠️ Note: The internal and external mark split may vary for certain subjects or semesters (like lab courses, projects, or seminars) as specified in the syllabus of each programme.
