What are SGPA and CGPA in KTU, and how are they calculated for BBA (Hons.) and BCA (Hons.) students?

Under the KTU 2024 regulations for BBA (Hons.) and BCA (Hons.) programmes, student performance is evaluated using SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) and CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average).

SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average):
It is the weighted average of grade points obtained in all courses of a semester. -
CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average):
It represents the overall academic performance across all semesters.
Example:
If a student earns grade points of 9, 8, and 7 in three courses with 3, 3, and 4 credits respectively:

CGPA is used to determine the class or division at the end of the programme.

The minimum passing grade is ‘P’ (6 Grade Point).
